Leading with a Lens of Inquiry in Australia

It’s been months of brainstorming and planning with some fantastic organizations and educators for a visit to Australia and Tasmania in July.

I’ll be partnering with Trevor MacKenzie at many of these events, bringing our range of experience and perspectives to the group while of course leaning and also learning from the fantastic wisdom in the room (If you were at the Kaleidoscope event in Vancouver this past April you’ll know this phrase, as shared by Kath Murdoch, quite well!)

Exploring the Inquiry Mindset: Cultivating Cultures of Curiosity in Canberra: 10-11 July

We’ll be kicking off the month long journey and taking critical and creative thinking at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Dr. Stephanie Smith has been fantastic to connect with throughout the planning process and I am very much looking forward to co-facilitating learning in this beautiful space! Festival of Inquiry in Perth: 17-18 July

This professional learning event is about Exploring the Inquiry Mindset through Curiosity, Questioning and Student-centred Assessment. From diving deeper into our values to taking a closer look at the ways we listen and respond to our learners with an inquiry mindset, this event is sure to reinvigorate your professional practice!

Exploring the Inquiry Mindset in Brisbane: 20-21 July

We’ll continue to explore the inquiry mindset will be hosted by the Queensland Association of State School Principals and our inquiry colleague David Turner. This event will be at the Royal International Convention Centre. You can find the flyer with information about the event here.

Nurturing a Culture of Inquiry Based Assessment in the Early Years: Mantaining student agency and a mindset centered on curiosity in Tasmania: 28-29 July

I’m so excited to be rounding out the month with the Early Childhood Educators of Tasmania. Reflecting on our assessment practice and tuning into the ways we are listening and documenting the learning will be at the forefront of the conversation.
