Connecting Evidence of Inquiry…and YOU!
While getting Evidence of Inquiry across the publishing finish line was a huge undertaking, getting to see how this publication begins to transform your documentation practice and connecting with you all is where the true magic lies.
The 2025-2026 academic school year is already taking shape with both virtual and in person events and long term partnerships with schools and with many of you beginning to allocate budgets, making plans to further your learning and dreaming up ways to shift school cultures I thought sharing these in one space might be most helpful to you!
Several years ago my publisher (thank you Elevate BooksEdu!) generously gave participants at the annual Arizona K12 Teacher Leadership Conference my first publication, Leading with a Lens of Inquiry, so to be back keynoting the event (not just attending!) this year is special. I'll be facilitating a session on learning walls and documentation and look forward to meeting you if you are attending the event...please come and say hello!
On June 26th, I'm celebrating the launch of my book with a favorite inquiry leader, Becky Carlzon, whose super power is questioning and bringing together a wide variety of voices and perspectives. Join us for a 1.5 conversation that brings forth three big misconceptions around learning walls and the spring board you need to empower your practice.
Whether you and your school embrace a place based approach to teaching and learning, are a museum school looking to connect with other educators in your network or you simply seek to broaden your perspective about ways to connect your community with the curriculum, The National Asocial Museum Conference is a great three-day event to consider joining with your favorite thought partners. I’m looking forward to the dynamic way that the organizers of this event have playfully put together the structures of learning across the three days! More information can be found here or reach out with any questions 🎉
I'm headed to Portland, Oregon this fall alongside Trevor MacKenzie to co-facilitate Crafting Inquiry 2025: Designing learning through questions, curiosity and collaboration. Trevor and I always have such a great time sharing space and sharing our perspectives teaching in both primary and secondary educational spaces while connecting with each and every one of you through a shared facilitation approach. We'll unpack question routines from his latest publication, exploring learning walls & the big and small "inquiry moves" that transform school cultures of thinking and learning. I really can't wait for this!
Although not until 2026, I'm partnering back up with Chapters International and facilitating a four week series of documentation. This workshop asks participants to take learning after each of our sessions and put ideas and strategies into action right away creating a special professional learning network that always brings such a joyful space to my week. If you'd love to build a learning wall right alongside your learning this is the series for you! And, stay tuned because I'm offering a two day workshop in Dubai in February 2026...if you are on that side of the world, registration is open for this event as well!
There are a few other events in the works (South Africa I'm looking at YOU ) that I will be sure to share details both here in my newsletter and/or on social media. If you're not over on Instagram or LinkedIn, I encourage you to jump on over there to have a peek at the behind the scenes or other work I get to do alongside school leaders and classroom teachers.
More soon friends
Jess
